The Canadian Marketing Awards recognizes the top marketers in the country for excellence across every sector. The judging process is based equally on strategy, creative and results. The show took place via a virtual gala this year.
Rethink won 19 awards (12 Golds, five Silvers & two Bronze). The winning work comes from all three offices and eight different clients.
Kraft Heinz won six awards across two campaigns. Kraft Heinz Pour Perfectly won Gold for Brand Building and Engagement, under the Food and Beverage category, as well as Silver for Brand Building and Innovative Media under Consumer Products.
The second campaign—which saw Kraft Heinz create a puzzle of 570 pieces all in identical Heinz Ketchup red—won Gold for Innovation in the Food and Beverage Category and Innovative Media under Consumer Products. The puzzle was also recognized for its Brand Building and Innovative Use of Media, with two Silvers in the Consumer Product category.
Another Gold in Consumer Products was awarded to Kraft Peanut Butter’s Stick Together for Small Businesses, which was awarded for Brand Building.
The WestJet Flight Light, a nightlight that uses live flight data to project parents’ flight paths onto their child’s bedroom ceiling, saw success winning Golds in two categories under Consumer Services: Innovative Media and Martech. Their latest campaign Cattle also won Gold in Business Impact.
The Raptors Republic Ka’Wine & Dine campaign won two Golds in Business Engagement and Innovative Media. While IKEA’s Stuff Monster and East West Market’s Embarrassing Plastic Bags campaigns were both awarded Golds in the Retail category, for Brand Building and Innovative Media.
The Embarrassing Plastic Bags campaign also won a Silver for Engagement in the Social Causes category. While A&W Canada’s Burger Man Hunt was awarded Silver for Engagement in the Food & Beverage category.
Fondation Émergence won three trophies under Social Causes. One Silver for the Pride Flagging campaign in Martech and two Bronzes for the Brutal Postings stunt in Customer Experience and Innovative Media.
