A symbol made of 193 LGBT flags to stop homophobic violence.

Rethink created The Pride Shield, in partnership with Émergence Foundation, for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

This custom-made 248-pound flag was crafted with 193 LGBT flags to show that despite recent progress, we still have to stand together to put an end to homophobia and transphobia.

A promotional video showing our experimentation on real flags became the awareness for May 17th.

Simultaneously, The Pride Shield was installed in public spaces to spark discussions. Organizations from around the world were invited to bring the Shield to their city to talk about LGBT rights around the World.

Posters and collateral showing draped LGBT activists were also launched in 15 languages and over a hundred countries. Their testimonies can be heard on prideshield.com, the campaign website.
