A&W’s annual fundraiser for the MS Society of Canada has raised more than $9 million in the past eight years, and this year they’ve raised the bar by partnering with one of the world’s most beloved soccer stars:
No, not Allen, but Canada’s own Christine Sinclair. Christine’s a three-time Olympian, Canada’s team captain and five-time nominee for the FIFA World Player of the Year.
Christine also has a personal connection to the cause, and to kick-off the campaign, she shared her story with the hope of inspiring Canadians to participate in finding a cure for MS:
To warm-up for the big Burgers To Beat MS Day on August 24th, Christine walked A&W’s beloved Allen through a few drills:
But the final challenge was for Christine to hit an impossible shot, drilling a Teen Burger resting on a cross bar. She is Canada’s all-time leading scorer and currently second worldwide in all-time international goals scored, so (spoiler alert) she nails it:
An estimated 100,000 Canadians live with MS, and the money raised will help fund research as well as vital programs and services to. On August 24th, $2 from every Teen Burger sold across the country will go towards helping those living with MS.
