Rafael Gi


From helping to raise seven figures for a local start-up, to managing Canada’s largest e-Commerce platform to helping develop one of the most talked social campaigns in 2014, Rafael is the definition of a true digital native. 

Rafael joined the Rethink team on January 2016 as a Strategy Director. He works at the unique intersection of business, technology and creativity. Specializing in organizing data, finding hidden nuggets of insights and translating them into impactful integrated programs.

Prior to Rethink, Rafael worked at Anomaly as part of the team that was listed on Ad Age’s Agency A-List (No. 7). He worked across a wide breadth of clients including Budweiser, Bud Light, Nike and Spotify as a key contributor responsible for delivering break through work; such as the #BudLightLiving Campaign (Cassies Bronze) and Kraft Hockeyville US (Cassies Bronze).

Before starting his career in advertising, he ran the Television and Home Audio eCommerce business at Best Buy/Future Shop where he was fortunate enough to work with top tier brands such as Apple, Samsung, Sony and LG. He was also part of the task force that launched the innovative In-Store Pickup initiative.

In his spare time, he loves to volunteer with University students. As part of the Simon Fraser University case competition staff, he has helped his alma mater achieve “Academic School of the Year” status in 2013 and 2014. When he is not volunteering, he enjoys travelling the world. In fact, he once made into the centre fold of a Columbian newspaper.
