Yup, you read that right. Winners, plural. After much consideration and deliberation, we have selected this year’s Rethink Scholarship recipient recipients. We simply couldn’t narrow it down to just one, so this year, with the help of our friends at Langara College, we’re awarding two scholarships to two talented young women! We feel like Oprah.
We are pleased to present this year’s winners:

Born and raised in the Philippines, I immigrated to Canada with my family a little over seven years ago. I just recently finished a joint major in Business and Interactive Arts & Technology at Simon Fraser University. I've always been interested in the tangible/visual aspect of design, and so I am really excited to go to Langara to further explore this avenue.
Why she’s excited to enroll in the Communication Arts Program at Langara:
Designers require continuous education to adapt, evolve and compete in the rapidly changing design industry. I see the Communication Arts program at Langara as an opportunity to learn from successful working professionals who can help me refine my design thinking and execution. My passion coupled with design skills and a good education will enable me to produce meaningful work that resonates with the world.

I am Japanese and love painting pictures. I've been wondering if there is a way to access the world by painting pictures....in the business world, I’ll want the skill of design, so I can express anything I want.
Why she’s excited to enroll in the Communication Arts Program at Langara:
At Langara, it will be a great experience to communicate with people who have different cultures and speak in English. It will help me see the variety and complexity of our world.
