Booth joined Rethink in July of last year, just months after the Vancouver-headquartered agency opened its Toronto outpost.
“To be picked for such a key leadership role at such a young age is a tremendous vote of confidence,” says Booth, age 30.
Prior to Rethink, Booth worked at Toronto-based agencies John St. and DDB Canada, where he spent five years.
“Chris is more than simply one of Canada’s best young writers,” says Chris Staples, a founding partner with Rethink and its national co-creative director, along with Ian Grais. “He’s also incredibly good working with clients on overall business strategies, which is rare for a Creative person. We think he and Dré will make a great leadership team.”
Labre worked with Booth at DDB, where he was CD of its Tribal DDB interactive division. “Chris is one of those rare Creative leaders who are perfectly equipped for modern marketing,” says Pema Hegan, managing director of Rethink Toronto. “He’s equally at home developing strategy, optimizing digital campaigns or crafting TV scripts. It’s a killer combination.”
Booth’s work for clients like Philips and Subaru has won top prizes at the Clios, London International and Marketing Awards, and has been featured in Communication Arts. He also received the ADCC’s Michael O’Reilly Copywriting Award in 2007.
Booth is a graduate of the Humber College post-graduate copywriting program and holds a BA in psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University.
