2K Sports takes a shot at complicated gameplay and scores

As the two gaming companies licensed by the NHL to produce hockey games, Electronic Arts and 2K Sports go head-to-head each year with their latest offerings. Historically, reviews and sales have favoured EA’s hockey games for their simplicity and playability, while 2K’s games were deemed unnecessarily complicated. In 2008, 2K launched NHL 2K9 with a strong focus on bringing back the fun in hockey video games, with improved controls, graphics and sound.
