Rethink is rounding out the year by adding Hans Thiessen, creative director of design, to the agency’s leadership team in Vancouver.
“Design has always been an integral part of Rethink,” says Ian Grais, founding partner. “Hans’ track record of integrating strategic thinking and big ideas into design will help us to continue leading the way in design on a national scale.”
Since joining Rethink in 2013, Thiessen has worked on projects for IKEA, Uber, Nike, EA, Molson Coors, WestJet, The One Club and RGD’s DesignThinkers 2017, which helped Rethink pick up strategy’s Silver Design AOY in the competition’s inaugural year. His work has been recognized by D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, Clios, Communication Arts, ADC and Type Directors Club. Prior to joining Rethink, Thiessen was a designer at WAX where he helped win Canada’s second-ever D&AD Black Pencil.
